In 1974 Larry Dunn offered Reed the opportunity to join
as a partner in his highway contracting company to utilize
his experience and reputation in the business.  Reed
declined the partnership, but agreed to work for Larry if
he could purchase a machine and work it on Larry's
projects.  Reed continued to work for Larry until Larry
began to have trouble financially.  Reed brought his Austin
Western motor grader back to the Anna, Texas area, and
began to look for work.  As he began to find and win new
customers and projects, He soon needed and purchased a
Caterpillar Dozer.  He then hired his father Albert Reed
Barton, who was also very well known as a finish grader operator.  In 1983 Reed's business had grown to
several pieces of Caterpillar equipment, Billy Barton, Reed's son, joined the growing company full time as
an equipment operator.  In 1992 Reed brought Billy in as a partner.  In 2002 they incorporated the business.
Billy is the 4th generation of Bartons to be involved in this industry.  Reed has sustained this company by
hard work, experience, conservative living, and not compromising his principals.

steam, gas, and diesel powered equipment.  Reed worked for many
companies in his career, such as:  Zackery, Austin, L.H. Lacy,
Adams Brothers, Shelemberger, and many others in the Sherman
